Project 8 Community Construction--Perak

Perak
•It is a good place, at the same time it give me deep impression.
•As a foriener, I never see the forest like this in my country, enrich my experience.
•The only problem is mosquitoes and bee(hornet)
•We cut bamboo and use it to built something

Bamboo work
•We built bamboo bridge, bamboo table, bamboo chair and bamboo bed
•We use rope to combine these bamboo and make them stable


From this community, we work together and eat together, all of us feel tired but happy. And the important point is we know: union is strength

Bamboo Gift

The bamboo gift is for hari raya. The gift I made is a flute. The material is just a thin bamboo. I cut several holes on it and use marker wrote "Selamat hari raya" on it. Someone asked me is the flute work? Of course no, I can't make a real flute.
The gift I got is a container made of thick bamboo, this container is for save money, especially for coin. Many children have this when they are little children, it can help them to build saving habit.

Merdeka, Malaysian National Day

The effort for independence was spearheaded by Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, who led a delegation of ministers and political leaders of Malaya in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or independence along with the first president of the Malayan Chinese Association (MCA) Tun Dato Sir Tan Cheng Lock and fifth President of Malaysian Indian Congress Tun V.T. Sambanthan. Once it became increasingly clear that the Communist threat posed during the Malayan Emergency was petering out, agreement was reached on February 8, 1956, for Malaya to gain independence from the British Empire. However, for a number of logistical and administrative reasons, it was decided that the official proclamation of independence would only be made the next year, on August 31, 1957, at Stadium Merdeka (Independence Stadium), in Kuala Lumpur.

This is our first time to participate Malaysian National Day, as international students(all of our group members are international students), we learned a lot of things.

As foreigners, all of us experience a different culture atmosphere—Malaysian culture, and these make us feel fresh and excited.
Team work, we help each other and encourage mutually, we get the importance of group. (Union is strength)
When we see hundreds of balloons have been released, we also feel the importance of union and emotion of Malaysian for their motherland. (That moved us, best wishes for Malaysia)

My Big Bang

The activities for new students are great and meaningful. It let us to know each other. We do something together and help each other. We use colour paper to make the thing like a tower. We get together and try to make a safe container to protect an egg drop from third level. We use a lot of newspaper to relieve the power. And we also use plastic bag to slowdown the drop speed. We use a lot of straws to protect the egg…… At last, we did it. The egg drop from the third floor and didn't get break. The night of last day, we sing and dance together. These four days activities could be a good memory of my life.

Privacy
For the studio class today, we got a lot of things from it. From the first day we came in the USM, it is a new stage to restart. No matter our family are rich, poor or just medium, all the students are equal. We are at the same same start line. So, all of us should working hard. And to everyone of us, do not put the target too high, and do not think everything is easy to do. We should put our target in a suitable place. Life is not easy to everybody. Another point is we should plan our future, maybe no need a far future but do a near future planning. Not only plan study, but also plan consume, arrange time and so on. Most of the juniors have their beautiful dream, but when they become seniors, does the beautiful dream still in their mind? The answer is no. They will found the dream is too perfect. And in this world, nothing is too perfect. That express they grow up. We will grow up, everybody will grow up. So, we should plan ourselves as early as possible.

Exist
The word “exist” means “being”, the meaning from dictionary is “have a place as part of objective reality” or “have being under specified conditions.” So, the direct meaning is something in/at someplace. The earth exist in universe and we exist on the earth. But why we exist? Actually it is hard to answer. Because our parents? Because the God or some others?
The “site”, one of the six elements, is also about the word “exist”. “Exist” is not only a word, we can imagine a lot of things from this word. A lot of things exist in this planet, and much more things exist in this universe. For micro-world, for example virus, human is huge giant. But for whole universe, human is so tiny living things, nearly nothing. Anyway, no matter virus, human or huge planet, the truth is they are all existence.
